This is what happens when I blog

Well, as I sat here blogging, Brynn came up to me and said, "Mommy, Reese has ranch sauce". This would be the kind you get with pizza. He was sitting quietly (which should have been my first clue), eating ranch dressing. The bit that fell onto the carpet did not go to waste, because Brett made sure he was on all fours licking it off the carpet. MMMMMM GOOD.

What silly things occur during your blogging moments??

The Electric Man

Every month around this time, a strange man is found wondering my backyard. I am beginning to wonder why I am still shocked to see him. The only way to access my electric meter is through the fence and around to the side of my house. I think he needs to wear a shirt that reads "I'm the electric man, do not be afraid", for those already stressed out moms. My initial reaction is to grab my children and duck. "Why??" I ask myself. This happens monthly. Anyway, I will work through this to. Have a great day.

If you could.....

If you could change one thing about your life, whether it was past or present, what would it be??

I would have taken more of an interest in our Lord sooner. Growing up as a Catholic did not encourage as much personal growth as I felt that I needed. In fact, Chris and I were so discouraged that we stopped going to church altogether, except Christmas and Easter. Then our good friends Sam and Laura invited us to come to Church of Christ. Even then I was wasn't sure about this church. I wasn't used to all of the singing that went on. I am so glad that we decided to become members of Church of Christ and now New Song, because our independence to worship as we feel we need to has increased beyond belief. I even held my hands up (partially=)) during one of the services. That is alot for me to do. This was a step out in faith, and trusting my husband that he was leading us in the direction he felt that God wanted us to go.

Worship

I just want to say that I really missed all of you this past Sun. As most of you know, my boys have a contagious skin infection, and of course we did not want to expose anyone further. I absolutely look forward to my Sun. and as a fellow blogger has stated, "it's rejuvenating", giving you that boost of energy, initiation, will, whatever you want to call it to face "the world". May all of you have a blessed week.

Isn't she lovely

When I saw this pic of Trinity, this song came to mind. Different name, but the same in the end. I think we all can relate to how precious our children are. Thanks Jim.

Isn't she lovely
Isn't she wonderfull
Isn't she precious
Less than one minute old
I never thought through love we'd be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn't she lovely made from love

Isn't she pretty
Truly the angel's best
Boy, I'm so happy
We have been heaven blessed
I can't believe what God has done
through us he's given life to one
But isn't she lovely made from love

Isn't she lovely
Life and love are the same
Life is Aisha
The meaning of her name
Londie, it could have not been done
Without you who conceived the one
That's so very lovely made from love

Kindness

If money was not an issue, what would be something you would do for someone else?

This actually involves Chris and I. If Chris' buisness is blessed (and please pray with us about this) we would like to have our own chapter of Habitat for Humanity and offer our labor and services free of charge. That is our goal and dream.

What really bugs you???

Sundays are my favorite days. We have the opportunity to worship our God with great people, fellowship with wonderful people and hear inspiring messages from a very gifted man. Most of the people have smiles on their faces and are happy to see you and vice versa. You feal really awesome when you leave. Then the world hits you in the face. I'm still smiling and people look at me like "what do you have to be happy about?". Anyway, I usually have a smile on my face and must remember that the people who don't smile or say hello back, need the smile even more. As DEP would say BBT.

Peaceful moment

This morning was an awesome morning. Chris and I were talking about work, and in the meantime Reese destroyed a pair of Chris' sunglasses. Chris became very angry and I could see that he was having a tough morning (before the sunglass incident). He mentioned in passing that he did not pray this morning. So I said "lets' pray together". He sat down across from me, we held hands and he prayed aloud. I could feel the Holy Spirit working, and wave of peace. The household is more peaceful now. Kodiaks blog yesterday really has me thinking (uh-oh), and we took a time-out from insanity to worship our Lord, at what a difference. GIG.

Your Most Embarrassing Moments

I know many of you have embarrassing moments, so lets take today to share with others. I would love to share some of mine, but Chris has me beat in this skilled department, so I will share with you (I have his permission). It all began ten years ago when Chris and I went out on a blind date with a group of friends. We volunteered to go to the store for a few items and as we approached the check out counter, Chris dropped two-one gallon milk jugs on the floor and the cartons broke of course, all over me=). This weekend did consist of jet skiing. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Another incident that is overwhelming remenicent is when Chris walked into the door jam at our house on Center Dr. We had been living there for a few months and he was on the computer at night, he was "temporarily blinded" when he shut the lights and gave a self-inflicted black eye. The most common question at the time was "Was this a domestic dispute?" What are your moments??? There are more with Chris, but I'll leave that for another time.

Another Prayer Request

I have another good friend who found out yesterday that her youngest brother was deployed to Bagdad. Please pray for a safe return and for the family. I thank you all.

Prayer request

I have a very good friend whose grandma will be passing very soon--we think. She has heart and liver failure. Like most grandmas, she means the world to my friend, so please pray for her. Thank you God in advance for the comfort and peace you'll bring to her.

Who was THAT?

After putting her children to bed, a mother changed into old sweats and blouse and proceeded to wash her hair and give herself a facial. As she heard the children getting more and more rambunctious, her patience grew thin.

At last she wrapped a towel around her head and with cold creme on her face stormed into their room, putting them back to bed with stern warnings. As she left the room, she heard her three-year-old say with a trembling voice, "Who was THAT?"

GIG

As most of you know, Chris has been working very hard lifting his buisness of the ground. Yesterday may have been a big turn around for us. He had one commercial bid accepted (it's a small job, but a start), and it looks like the assisted living job may come through very soon. There is a big meeting today to determine if the General contrator and owner of Cambrian (assisted living behind Tec. Plywood) are going to bring in outside contrators (Chris) to help "catch them up". Please pray for Chris and our family, as the struggle has been very long and difficult. We do understand that God won't give us more than we can handle. He is an awesome God.

Faith

The Boss

This is for the Star Wars buff. My three year old was doing headstands on my couch and I told him that I prefer him to perform his acrobats on the floor. He continued to ignore me, so my voice became stern and Brett sat down on the couch and looked at me with a very serious face and told me that "The Boss" (Darth Vader) told him to do it. What an imagination....and of course I couldn't help but laugh. Now, "The Boss" is blamed for many things around here.

Family Time

Well, I have officially entered the Blogging World.........
Chris, the children and I had a wonderful mini-vacation in South Haven, Mi. The weather was beautiful and the water was freezing:) The kids fell asleep on the beach, buying mom and dad some quiet time. The only true mishap was that I left my wallet in a gas station bathroom in Marshall. Thanks Be To God, that there are still honest people in the world and my wallet was turned into the police dept., everything still there, including cash. Hope everyone had a great 4th of July..Happy Birthday Swinging Sammy.
